The more I thought about Jack and his Dumbo lullaby, I started wondering how normal Jack's lullabies were. We (Jack & I) have the three go-to songs (Jack and daddy tell stories).
It's amazing what songs come back to you, verse by verse, after you have a baby. . .
#1. Didn't Leave Nobody But the Baby, O Brother Where Art Thou
(Thought about using an Allison Krauss/Gillian Welch video - but this supports the randomness of this song.) Have no fear, I ad-lib this song. But the repetition and tone of this song has knocked Jack out since he was born. (by the way ... one of my favorite movies - I thought you was a toad!!!)
#2 Smile, Charlie Chapman // Nat King Cole (NOT Michael Jackson)
An old dear friend, Chrisine Person (Prentice) taught me this song back in 8th grade and I used it for auditions (when I used to be able to sing).
#3 Baby Mine (see previous post)
What does everyone else sing their little ones? Something more normal?

I am sure that I will be singing something like 311 or Florence + The Machine... Whatever it takes right? Then again... it will more than likely be "You are my Sunshine" or Jesus Loves Me... I can remember them... I need to learn more now!

I used to always sing "I see the moon" to Courtney and Chase. I even sang it to Sean and Bryan when they were babies. Jack's great-grandfataher taught me the song and we still sing it when there is a full moon out.
