A Little Shameless Self Promotion

Well, it's time that I do something with  myself now that I am jobless and quite frankly, bored. 2695 will by my little pet project. I plan on getting a business license here in Statesboro and focus on freelancing and bettering myself as a designer and entrepreneur.

The new web site is a start and I plan on further developing it over time.

If you have a little business to send my way - I am always looking to expand my portfolio :)

Oooh... My Very Own Prayer Rug.

These days I find amusement opening up junk mail. Today I was utterly amused. I got a prayer rug.

My very own prayer rug.

What's even cooler is what it does...

Directions for my prayer rug: "Look into Jesus' Eyes you will see that they are closed. But as you continue to look you will see His eyes opening and looking back into your eyes. Then go be alone and kneel on this Rug of Faith or touch it to your knees. Then please check your needs on our letter to you. Please return this rug. Do not keep it."

Wait - does this mean I got a used Prayer Rug? Damnit! And I have to give it back??? Sad. My magic prayer rug is not for keeps.

Pictures!!!

Many of you have requested photos of the new house. Well, here you go. We still have a lot to do and work on ... but it's coming along.

The backyard and the Pecan trees!

BEIGE!!! Please note that we also are subbing our daybed as a couch ... not a looker - but quite comfy!

Master Bed...

Yet another beige room ... the dining room. However, it lets in a lot of sunlight!

Here is the office ... the modem, however, is not in the middle of the floor anymore :)

The painfully dull spare bedroom...

And my favorite view... the front.

Christmas

It's always hard finding out what your friends are doing on Christmas while you are opening presents, drinking wine, gossiping about celebrities...

Thanks Pete - We're proud of you. Thanks for all of your sacrifices. We love you.

Meeting the Neighbors...

We have a neighborhood car chaser. Today, while I was taking pictures of the house, he decided to come over, stand in my driveway and bark at me. When I told him to go away - he conveniently made a pit-stop at my mailbox.

I now have proof of how much a little jerk he is -

Culture Shock

Although previously living here ... there are still some things to get used to.

In Alpharetta, we would wake to the hum of cars going by, an occasional siren and honking horns. However... somewhere past the thick forest wall in our backyard lives wildlife. The kind that wakes you out of sleep in the morning and makes you jump as the night falls.

I'm talking about roosters and mules. Yes. Every morning the rooster crows and at dusk, it never fails, the mule ... haws?

New Year, New Home ...

and a New life!!!

Goodbye Alpharetta and Hello Statesboro!

Bryan and I  closed on 2695 at 11 am on January 4th and became residents of Statesboro, Georgia (again) at 4pm later that day.

With help from my parents and a couple of movers, we had a 26' truck, the Explorer, Beefcake + a snazzy new trailer packed to the max - we left behind best friends and great jobs and hit the open road to new opportunities.

It still hasn't hit me that I will NOT being leaving come Sunday. Since leaving Statesboro in 2003 - it's always been a place to go on a weekend. It never crossed my mind that I'd live here again. However awkward the adjustment - I think Bryan and I made a great decision to move. We love our house, we have awesome neighbors, great friends nearby and a new, less stressful life to look forward to.

Peanut and Mac are still getting used to the adjustment, but they already love the backyard full of trees [and birds]. Unpacking is going slowly, but we had a ton [of much appreciated] help from friends.
