Yesterday and today I was told by Jack's two different teachers that he had an issue 'not listening.'
Surprise, surprise.
In detail, they explained that when his friends were being rowdy, he would be rowdy; when they weren't listening, he wouldn't listen; if they would hit, he'd hit ... and on and on and on ... By the time his teachers had his friends under control - he would be in full force of whatever they weren't supposed to be doing (& not taking clues by what his teachers were telling his friends). Tunnel vision.
So over dinner tonight, I had a long talk with him. I told Jack his hands are for hugging, words are to be nice and ears should always listen - especially to his teachers. He nodded along with what I was saying - as if he was listening to me. I was impressed!
I ended my lecture, "So, Jack, do you understand what I am saying? We're to always be sweet."
His response - "I looooooooooove meatballs!"
Good grief.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I love meatballs, too.
